Thailand is not an Apostille country — is destination-embassy attestation still required?

Not for Apostille member states (125+ jurisdictions) — the Department of Consular Affairs Apostille is sufficient. Non-member states still require traditional embassy chain legalisation.

Must the Original Transcript be lodged, or can a certified copy be used?

Yes. Because Thailand acceded to the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention on 30 June 2026 and it enters into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027, so no Thai Apostille is issued yet, there is no Apostille route here: Consular Affairs legalises the university-issued original with its certified translation, and the destination embassy or consulate in Thailand attests it afterwards where the receiving body requires that step.

How do WES, ECE and IQAS differ — which should I use?

All three are NACES members accepted by US and Canadian institutions. WES has the largest network and fastest turnaround (7–20 days); ECE specialises in deep academic evaluation; IQAS is targeted at Alberta employment/registration. Pick whichever the receiving authority specifies.

What is the entry-level fee and how long does the full pipeline take?

Certified translation plus Apostille starts at price on request (transcript price on request + Apostille price on request), in 5–10 working days. A 24–48 hour express tier adds 50–100%. Multi-university packages are available.

Does the office advise on admissions or student-visa applications?

We are translation and authentication only. Admissions counsel should come from an embassy-recognised Education Agent; visa advice from a lawyer or a destination-country registered Migration Agent.

Credential Recognition by Destination: US, UK, Australia, Germany, and Beyond

Recognition of Thai credentials abroad differs by destination and these distinctions matter at the outset. In the United States the dominant evaluators are members of NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services), with WES and ECE the most widely accepted of the nineteen. The Official Transcript must travel sealed from the issuing university directly to the evaluator (the student may not open the envelope). WES Standard Service runs 7–20 business days at USD 160–240 for a Course-by-Course report. In the United Kingdom, UK ENIC (formerly UK NARIC) is the sole government-designated agency for evaluating overseas qualifications. A Statement of Comparability is used for employment, Skilled Worker (Tier 2) visa lodgement, and UCAS admission. Standard service is GBP 49.50 inclusive of VAT, with a 24-hour Express tier at GBP 130. For medical, nursing and dental registration the respective regulators (GMC, NMC, GDC) run their own evaluation regimes. Australia operates the Australian Qualifications Framework. Assessment is carried out by the Department of Education through Country Education Profiles or, for Skilled Migration, by the occupation's Designated Authority. For applicants targeting New Zealand (NZQA), especially Subclass 189/190/491/482, a Skills Assessment is mandatory: Engineers Australia for engineers, CPA Australia for accountants, ACS for ICT, AHPRA for health practitioners. The transcript must be translated by a NAATI Certified Translator and Apostilled by the Department of Consular Affairs. Germany operates the Anabin database, maintained by ZAB (Zentralstelle für ausländisches Bildungswesen), which classifies foreign institutions as H+ (fully equivalent), H+/- (partially equivalent), H- (not equivalent), or programme-specific H+/H-. Applicants must check the institution's Anabin status first; where it is unlisted or H-, a one-year Studienkolleg may be required before undergraduate entry. Documents must be translated by a Beeidigter Übersetzer (a court-sworn translator) or carry a Thai Apostille plus in-Germany certified translation. Canada (IRCC) requires an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from one of five designated bodies — WES, IQAS, ICES, ICAS, CES — plus MCC for physicians, NDEB for dentists and PEBC for pharmacists — for Express Entry, PNP and other programmes under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. WES Canada charges CAD 220 inclusive of the report despatch to IRCC. Japan and Korea operate looser systems: destination universities typically evaluate documents themselves but require an Apostille and a Japanese- or Korean-language translation (not English) by a certified translator. Japanese professional licensure additionally requires processing by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare under occupation-specific rules. Our office has processed credentials into eighty-plus jurisdictions and maintains a database of agency- and institution-specific requirements. Clients can request a destination checklist before purchase to reduce the risk of a resubmission cycle.
