Why Visa Translations Are Different from General Translations

Visa translations are evaluated by consular officers against a fixed acceptance schedule rather than for literary fluency. The receiving embassy needs to verify three things at a glance: that the translation is complete (no clauses summarised or omitted), that it is performed by a translator the embassy recognises, and that the translator's identifying credentials appear on the same page as the translated text.
