The document categories covered here fall into four families defined by the certification stack the receiving authority requires. Family one is civil-registry documents from the Department of Provincial Administration (birth, marriage and divorce records, house registration, name-change, single-status); these need a freshly certified copy signed by the issuing Thai registrar, dated within the receiving authority's tolerance (typically three to six months). Family two is education credentials (degree, transcript, completion certificate, Office of the Civil Service Commission credential recognition); these must be authenticated by the Ministry of Education or the Office of the Civil Service Commission before translation if the document will continue into Apostille or consular legalisation. Family three is legal documents (contracts, powers of attorney, court orders, DBD company certificates, articles of association); these go to a translator with a legal background whose terminology aligns with the destination's legal system (Common Law vs Civil Law). Family four is medical documents (medical certificates, treatment records, test results); some require Ministry of Public Health authentication, and all go to a translator with medical-terminology training to avoid errors that could affect treatment or insurance claims. Every document is two-eye reviewed (translator plus senior reviewer) before delivery, and we replace free of charge any document rejected by the receiving authority for translator or notary error.

- How is Thai certified translation different from European sworn translation?
- Thailand does not have a sworn-translator office in the Civil-Law sense. The functional equivalent is a translator listed on the Department of Consular Affairs roster plus notarial attestation by a Lawyers Council Notarial Services Attorney — together accepted by Thai authorities, embassies, and the Apostille chain.
- How are prices set and why are they ranges, not fixed quotes?
- Price depends on language pair, subject-matter expertise, word count, and the certification layer required. We publish verifiable ranges (typically 500-2,500 THB per page for civil-registry documents) rather than fixed prices to avoid misquoting on source documents that turn out to be more complex than the brief. A written quote is issued before any work begins.
- How long does end-to-end certified translation take?
- Standard civil-registry documents run two to three business days on the standard channel and 24 hours on express. Long-form documents (twenty-plus-page contracts, multi-semester transcripts) take three to seven business days. If Apostille or consular legalisation follows, add three to seven business days depending on upstream ministry routing.
- Why do some other providers get rejected at the counter?
- The recurring causes are: translator not on the Department of Consular Affairs roster; missing notarial attestation by a Notarial Services Attorney; terminology that does not match the receiving authority's register; or a source document that is not a freshly registrar-certified copy.
